Megatokyo has moved so slow in it's first eight months that sometimes it's easy to forget that Kimiko is really the main female character opposite Piro - she just hasn't really joined the story yet. As a result, other characters, Yuki in particular, have had a lot more development. As part of my attempts to re-group over the weekend, i did a handful of quick sketches of various characters attempting to capture their personalities and other qualities. This sketch is one of the better ones - there's something about her look that just says a lot to me. Too often i've relied on raw petulance and angry glances from characters - with Kimiko, he problems, her struggles, her feelings are harder to read, and are more potent deep inside than any of the other characters - that's her role. I have to make sure i never loose track of that fact.
