Like i indicated last week, I need to do more color work. Until i recently learned a few photoshop 'tricks', i used to spend a lot of time cleaning up images before i could start coloring them. I decided to color this image of Yuki just for fun - and to see how quickly i could do it. The only prep i did to the drawing was to remove the crosshatching and pencil shading that the image has in the comic so that i could fill the hair and pants with solid colors. Considering the fact that i only spent two hours on this, it came out pretty good. The shading and coloring could be done better, and with more care, but this is more of a 'sketch' of color than a rendered color piece. I intend to spend some time over the next month to try to build a series of colored images of the megatokyo characters that i can use for character bios on the main site.
